Area Manager – Dewatering

Location: South Carolina, USA
Sector: Dewatering / Ground Engineering
Compensation: Competitive salary + bonus + truck + full benefits

We’re working with a national leader in specialty geotechnical contracting that’s looking to bring on an experienced Area Manager to oversee their Dewatering operations in South Carolina.

This is a great opportunity for someone with deep technical knowledge of dewatering systems, solid project management experience, and a track record of leading high-performing teams. You'll be responsible for everything from business development and client relationships to project delivery and financial oversight — with full support from a collaborative leadership team.

What you’ll be doing

  • Lead all dewatering operations across the South Carolina region, ensuring safe, high-quality, and on-time delivery.

  • Drive business development — maintain client relationships, pursue new work, and represent the company in the local market.

  • Provide technical oversight during project development, design, and execution.

  • Monitor project progress, budgets, and forecasting — ensuring financial targets are met.

  • Coordinate with internal departments including estimating, operations, and HSEQ.

  • Support and develop your team through hiring, mentoring, and hands-on leadership.

  • Contribute to overall regional growth strategy alongside senior leadership.

  • Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures across all projects.

What we’re looking for

  • 10+ years of experience in construction, with a strong background in groundwater control and dewatering.

  • Proven track record managing both field and office staff.

  • Strong knowledge of pumps, piping, trenching, wellpoint systems, and deep well systems.

  • Experience working with clients, contractors, and design teams on technically complex projects.

  • Financially savvy — able to manage budgets, forecasts, and profitability goals.

  • Excellent communication and leadership skills.

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field preferred.

  • Prior experience with a specialty dewatering or ground engineering contractor is a strong plus.

Why consider this role?

You’ll be joining a company with national reach and a reputation for technical excellence. This is a chance to take full ownership of a growing region, lead complex projects, and shape the future of dewatering operations in South Carolina. You'll have the tools, support, and flexibility to make a real impact.
