Area Manager – British Columbia

We’re working with one of the global leaders in ground engineering who are hiring an Area Manager to lead their operations across British Columbia.
This is a key leadership role with full operational responsibility across the province. You’ll be driving strategy, managing project execution, building and mentoring a high-performing team, and ensuring safe, high-quality delivery across the board. The business has a strong presence in the region, and the focus now is on growth — the right person will bring a mix of technical expertise, commercial acumen, and a leadership style that empowers and delivers.
What you’ll be doing

Oversee day-to-day operations from the BC office, working closely with Safety, Operations, Finance, HR, and executive leadership.

Monitor project performance and financials weekly — manage forecasts, budgets, and ensure profitability targets are hit.

Build and develop a strong team: hire, train, mentor, and create career paths for long-term growth and succession.

Maintain a strong focus on safety and risk — ensure protocols are followed across all sites and teams.

Ensure quality across the full project lifecycle, from bid to close-out.

Collaborate with legal and finance to manage contracts, claims, and commercial risk.

Identify and pursue business development opportunities, grow market share, and explore new technologies in the region.

Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, engineers, and contractors across BC.

Represent the company in industry groups and associations to maintain visibility and promote capabilities.

Travel as needed to support project sites and meet operational goals.
What we’re looking for
-
Licensed Professional Engineer (P.Eng) with 15+ years of experience in heavy civil, geotechnical, or ground engineering.

Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or related field.

Deep understanding of the BC construction market, including experience with technologies like jet grouting, soil mixing, anchors, SOE, and deep foundations.

At least 10 years of experience in estimating and project management, with strong commercial and client-facing skills.

Strong leadership background, including team building, performance management, and strategic planning.

Comfortable working across multiple disciplines with the ability to adapt and respond to changing priorities.

Strong communicator — able to lead from the front, represent the company with clients, and build trust at every level.
