Job Description: Estimator (Deep Foundations)

We are seeking an experienced Estimator on behalf of a leading deep foundation contractor specializing in drilled shaft and auger cast projects. This role involves preparing accurate and competitive cost estimates for foundation projects across the U.S., ensuring proposals meet client requirements and align with project objectives. The ideal candidate will have significant experience in estimating for deep foundation construction and a strong understanding of project cost management.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Analyze project plans, specifications, and other documentation to prepare detailed cost estimates for drilled shaft and auger cast foundation projects.
  • Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and subcontractors to gather necessary data and insights for accurate pricing.
  • Develop comprehensive bid proposals, including labor, equipment, materials, and subcontractor costs.
  • Utilize estimating software and tools to quantify project scope, costs, and timelines effectively.
  • Evaluate project risks and opportunities, recommending strategies to enhance project profitability and competitiveness.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry trends, pricing, and market conditions to optimize bidding strategies.
  • Participate in bid review meetings, presenting cost estimates and analysis to stakeholders.
  • Support business development efforts by providing expertise in cost estimation and proposal preparation.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field; additional certifications in estimating or project management are advantageous.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in estimating for drilled shaft and auger cast foundation projects.
  • Proven ability to prepare accurate, detailed, and competitive cost estimates within tight deadlines.
  • Strong analytical skills with proficiency in estimating software and tools (e.g., HCSS HeavyBid, Bluebeam, or equivalent).
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to build relationships with clients, subcontractors, and internal teams.
  • Detail-oriented approach with a focus on quality, accuracy, and adherence to project requirements.
  • Willingness to travel occasionally and collaborate with teams across various U.S. locations.
