About the Role
As the Geotechnical Lab Manager, you will oversee the day-to-day operations of the laboratory, ensuring accurate and reliable testing for various geotechnical projects. You’ll be responsible for managing a team of lab technicians, ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards, and coordinating with project managers and engineers to meet project requirements. This role requires a hands-on leader who can balance technical expertise with strong management skills.
Key Responsibilities

Supervise and manage laboratory operations, including soil, rock, and construction materials testing.

Lead, train, and mentor lab technicians, fostering a positive and productive work environment.

Ensure compliance with industry standards, safety regulations, and company protocols.

Maintain and calibrate laboratory equipment to ensure accurate results.

Prepare and review reports on testing results, data analysis, and quality control.

Coordinate with project teams to ensure timely and accurate delivery of test results.

Monitor lab performance and implement improvements to optimize efficiency and accuracy.
What We’re Looking For
- Experience : Minimum of 5 years of experience in geotechnical laboratory operations, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or management role.
- Education : Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Geotechnical Engineering, or a related field preferred.
- Technical Knowledge : Proficient in laboratory testing methods for soil, aggregate, and concrete.
- Leadership Skills : Proven ability to manage and mentor a team, promoting a culture of safety and accuracy.
- Communication : Strong verbal and written skills for effective reporting and team coordination.
- Attention to Detail : High level of accuracy and consistency in data analysis and reporting.
