An exciting opportunity for a Head of Environmental and Sustainability has become available with a leading name in the railway electrification sector.
Responsibilities:
- Ensure compliance with company policies and legislation governing environmental and sustainability
- Create and put in place the IMS requirements for environmental and sustainability management
- Head up the environmental and sustainability team, providing strong leadership, mentoring and guidance
- Help teams produce EMPs and other related documentation
- Review environmental requirements in Work Package Plans (WPPs)
- Assist with the preparation of consent applications, ensuring these are made in a timely fashion
- Offer guidance to teams with regards to SWMPs, making sure legal requirements are identified and data is properly recorded
- Develop and deliver environmental training, encompassing toolbox talks and specific courses
- Liaise with specialist consultants covering areas such as ecology
The person:
- Previous experience at management / leadership level in environmental and sustainability, preferably within the rail, engineering or construction sectors
- Strong understanding of relevant UK legislation
- Membership of the IEMA (MIEMA)
