An international engineering organisation requires an Electrical Design Engineer with experience working on Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS), PV, and hydrogen schemes with knowledge of G99 connection procedures.

In this role, which can be carried out remotely or from offices in London, Manchester or Cambridge, the HV Design Engineer will be responsible for:

  • Design and design review of HV systems, including control and protection and HV connections
  • Producing single line diagrams (SLD) and protection coordination
  • Carrying out power systems analysis - load flow, simulations, network modelling, stability and fault level analysis
  • Preparing equipment specifications (transformers, protection relays etc) and vendor documentation
  • Ensuring all designs comply with G99 and grid codes
  • Assisting in the creation of tender packages
  • Leading technical bid evaluations and selection of contractors
  • Acting as Authorised Person (AP)
  • Replying to client's technical queries
  • Approving as-builts and associated documentation
  • Managing HV testing and commissioning work
 

Requirements:

  • Previous experience as an HV Design Engineer working on BESS or renewable energy integration / connection projects, 11kV - 132kV
  • Strong knowledge and experience of G99, grid codes, grid compliance and connection requirements
  • Proficiency with software, such as DigSilent, IPSA, ETAP, PSCAD and AutoCAD
  • Degree (or equivalent) in Electrical Engineering
