International engineering and consultancy company, expert in the planning and implementation of infrastructure and mobility projects, requires a Junior Project Manager for rail schemes in Ireland. Most of the projects will be in Dublin and Cork, with a focus on SET (signalling, electrification and telecoms).

Working to NEC contracts, the Junior Project Manager will be responsible for ensuring signalling, electrification and telecommunications projects are delivered in line with the programme requirements, on time and within budget.

Responsibilities:

  • Design management and coordination, making sure that a fully-integrated final design is completed for these rail projects
  • Ensure construction and system integration across all projects, making sure that subcontract programmes from external contractors meet safety requirements and technical approvals
  • Update and present detailed Project Execution Plans (PEP) containing information showing project development, actions, roles and responsibilities, project milestones, risks and costs
  •  Input project scheduling and monitoring services, in order to track and record project progress
  • Support Senior Project Managers in resource allocation for SET works, including work schedules and breakdown of costs
  • Create a cost plan for each scheme, including area of potential risk and risk mitigation strategies
  • Assist with the daily management of project teams, ensuring their work is completed as per schedule
  • Create a Risk Management report for all projects, and amend across project lifecycle as appropriate
  • Develop O&M (operational and maintenance) and Sustainability Plans for the SET works, highlighting the consideration given to social, economic and environmental factors
  • Liaise with suppliers and subcontractors, ensuring timely delivery of materials and equipment
  • Help to prepare project documentation, such as reports and presentations, and create a document review and approval process

Requirements:

In order to be considered for this opportunity, previous experience in a Project Manager role is required, Ideally, this experience will have been in the rail sector, specifically on signalling, electrification or telecoms projects. Previous experience in project coordination for SET schemes would be a great advantage. Experience with MS Project or Primavera is desirable.
