International engineering organisation, operating across several sectors requires a Quantity Surveyor with NEC experience. This role, which is available on a hybrid basis, is to work for the company's street lighting division, specifically LED street lighting maintenance.

The main purpose of the role is to manage the commercial performance on this street lighting contract, delivering cost value reconciliations (CVRs), providing colleagues with updates on the contract's financial performance to ensure profit maximisation, whilst also identifying and managing risk.

Duties:

  • In tandem with the procurement department, set up and procure the supply chain, whilst also deciding on the appropriate form of contract
  • Oversee change management, ensuring alignment with company governance processes
  • Manage the pricing of change across the contract, with regards to clients and sub-contractors
  • Carry out contract reviews in partnership with the legal team
  • Manage risk reviews and report outcomes to the business
  • Compile cost value reconciliations and provide reports on all commercial data 
  • Manage any disputes that may arise
  • Put together and submit payment applications 
  • Assess sub-contractor payments, issue contract notifications and certificates for payment and agree the final accounts
  • Approve payments to the supply chain
  • Create short-term and long-term commercial forecasts for projects, in addition to end of site reports and revised business forecasts
  • Produce earned value reports
  • Provide commercial advice and support to site teams
  • Show a thorough appreciation of contractual obligations, including the following forms of contract - NEC, JCT, TSC

Requirements:
  • Experience as a Quantity Surveyor in the street lighting, civils, highways, utilities, construction, telecoms or civil engineering sectors
  • Strong understanding of NEC forms of contract
  • Experience with CVRs, identifying commercial risks and implementing risk management 
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Driving licence
