Senior Project Manager – Land Piling / Ground Improvement

Location: North Vancouver, BC
Sector: Foundations / Ground Improvement / Shoring
Compensation: $140K–$170K + bonus + RRSP + benefits

We’re working with a growing foundation and ground improvement contractor under the Carlson Construction Group, currently expanding their leadership team in BC. They’re looking for a Senior Project Manager to oversee land piling projects across the Lower Mainland — with a strong focus on quality, safety, and client delivery.

This is a great opportunity for someone with a solid background in geotechnical construction and project management who’s ready to lead from the front and help shape a business that’s on the rise.

What you’ll be doing

  • Manage daily site operations on ground improvement and foundation projects, ensuring delivery on time and to spec

  • Develop, track, and adjust project schedules to meet milestones and deadlines

  • Prepare and negotiate contracts, including managing revisions and scope changes

  • Coordinate subcontractors, vendors, and field crews to keep everything moving smoothly

  • Monitor project costs, forecasts, and profitability — working closely with accounting and senior management

  • Act as the key point of contact for clients and support business development efforts

  • Lead and mentor junior project team members, supporting their field development

  • Maintain high HSE standards across all activities

What we’re looking for

  • Degree or diploma in Civil or Geotechnical Engineering

  • Registered or eligible to register as an EIT, P.Eng, or AScT in BC

  • Minimum 8 years’ project management experience in heavy civil or geotechnical construction

  • Strong technical knowledge in piling, ground improvement, and shoring systems — CFA and secant pile experience is a bonus

  • Proven track record in contract negotiation, scheduling, and budget management

  • Familiarity with permitting, trade standards, and government approvals in BC

  • Excellent communication, leadership, and time management skills

Why consider this role?

You’ll be joining a BC-based contractor with a solid reputation and the backing of an established construction group. This role offers real leadership responsibility, technical variety, and a chance to help shape project delivery in the region. You’ll also get:

  • Competitive base salary + annual bonus

  • Company-paid RRSP

  • Full benefits program

  • 14 statutory holidays

  • Support for continued professional development

  • Long-term growth opportunities with a family-owned and operated business
