This contract role, outside IR35, is for a Signalling Design Engineer to join a leading organisation in the rail industry. 

The Signalling Design Engineer will be responsible for the production of signalling system designs, covering standard trackside equipment, as well as more complex projects.

Duties:
  • Carrying out design and design checks of signalling systems, in accordance with standards, industry codes and Signalling Design Specifications
  • Liaise with stakeholders to ensure successful project outcome
  • Provide guidance to junior design engineers
  • Assist with design risk assessments 

Qualifications and Experience:
  • Previous experience in signalling design for the rail sector is essential
  • Engineering qualification (HNC, HND, degree, or equivalent)
  • Experience of the following is beneficial - LAP, scheme plans, specifications. Fringe Designs, SSI Wiring, SSI (Westlock) data and control systems
  • IRSE Signalling Designer and Verifier Licence (desirable)
