Exciting opportunity for a Structural Design Engineer to work on rail projects in Dublin. With a focus on network enhancements, the Structural Engineer will be responsible for assisting the Programme Manager, Project Manager and other design engineers in the delivery of structural engineering projects.
Duties will include the provision of civil / structural drawings, designs, specifications, bills of quantity and engineering reports, primarily for bridge structures. Here, the role will entail carrying out structural assessments and producing reports, preparing both outline and detailed structural designs for the refurbishment of existing bridges, as well as new bridges (including foot bridges). Additionally, the Structural Engineer will oversee CAD technicians, reviewing and marking up drawings.
The secondary focus of the role is for general structures, carrying out assessments, writing reports and performing the structural design.
The role will also entail working closely with external design teams, resident engineers and contractors, ensuring schemes are delivered safely, on time, within budget and in accordance with industry standards, company policies and government legislation.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Qualification in Civil or Structural Engineering
- Member of Engineers Ireland or similar body
- Experience in a Civil or Structural Design Engineer role
- Experience of relevant structural design software, such as LUSAS, Tekla Tedds, SLOPE, WALLAP
- Experience of Revit, AutoCAD, AutoDesk Civils 3D
- BIM understanding
- Strong working knowledge of relevant design standards, Eurocodes, TII standards and health and safety regulations
- Driving licence
