The Deploy Recruitment Group are seeking an experienced OLHE / OCS Technical Executive for an exciting role working on a major project to revolutionise travel in the Greater Dublin Area. The ambitious project will see its current length grow by over 100km, bringing with it massive benefits to new and local communities in the area.

It will be a key driver in making public transport the preferred option for travel for more and more people and boost the region's connectivity. The improvements will deliver frequent, modern, electrified services within the Greater Dublin Area (GDA) and will improve connectivity to Regional towns and cities.

Role Summary:
 

  • To provide professional & technical support to the Electrification Section in the maintenance and renewal of the OHLE equipment and traction equipment on the project
  • To support the Electrification Technical Support roles in fulfilling their functions as defined in the SET Safety Management System
  • To support and perform duties of the Technical Support Electrification as required
  • To undertake compliance and verification audits with and/or under the direction of the Electrification Technical Support functions on adherence to Electrification standards and procedures as issued by the Technical Manager of Electrification
  • To follow up in a proactive manner as a result of monitoring to ensure that the ETS and the SETS are fully briefed on non-compliance issues.
  • To ensure all non-compliance issues are addressed
Specific Responsibilities:
 
  • Ensure that all maintenance personnel have access to and understanding of the up-to-date Maintenance Specifications, Instructions, Procedures, and Manuals
  • Evaluate the content of completed maintenance activities against maintenance specifications
  • Evaluate the standard of completed maintenance activities to maintenance specification
  • Develop reports on the standard and content of completed maintenance activities
  • Record reason for deferred work (lack of material/time)
  • Carry out general verification and audit duties as directed by the Electrification Technical Support functions
  • Prepare period plans for areas of responsibility within the framework set by the Electrification Support Team
  • Prepare and present period stewardship reports on progress for the compliance to maintenance specifications to the STS team
  • Provide feedback/report to the Electrification Support Team on compliance/non-compliance to maintenance activities
  • Provide feedback to the Electrification Support Team on the adequacy of maintenance specifications with regard to clarity and content

Safety:
  • Perform duties in accordance with Statutory and Corporate Health, safety  a nd Environmental requirements
  • Perform his/her duties in accordance with Company rules, standards and
  • Instructions
  • Perform his/her duties in accordance with the Safety Management System

So, what are we looking for?

Qualifications:

Essential:
 
  • A Third Level qualification (or presently studying) to demonstrate competence in Electrical Engineering
  • 5 – 10 years minimum working experience in a similar environment
  • Demonstrated understanding of and commitment to Safety
  • Knowledge and experience of Electrification Maintenance procedures and practices
  • Extensive knowledge of the Electrification Equipment in use on IÉ Network
  • Ability to meet and discuss maintenance issues and create/present reports
  • An understanding of the Audit and corrective action process
  • Ability to work on own initiative
  • Strong IT Skills
  • Good technical and communication skills – written & Oral
  • Full Clean driving licence

Desirable:
  • Project Management experience.
  • Extensive Knowledge of MicroStation / AutoCAD Software programmes.
  • Good knowledge of Microsoft Office incl. Project.
  • An understanding of the industry's best practices and international railway standards
  • Engineering/technical/electrical background
  • Computer skills – SAP data input and information access, including database

Hybrid Working: there is a minimum of 3 days per week required in the office / on site, depending on your role
Contracted Hours : 36 hours per week
Annual Leave Entitlement: 25 days per annum, rising to 28 based on service.

The project is due to continue for the foreseeable future, and with the client having a very strong pipeline of projects, this is being offered as a permanent opportunity.
